ViCA - Frequently Asked Questions
1.1. Where can I check which version of ViCA I am running?
In case of Android, you can get information about the currently used version of ViCA by selecting the contact function. In case of Windows, you can get information about the currently used version of ViCA in the help menu. In case of iPhone, you can get information about the currently used version of ViCA from the bank.
1.2. I forgot my ViCA password, what should I do?
Please contact your account manager's financial institution with your problem, because in that case you will need to request a new password and re-register the application!
1.3. I'm banned from ViCA, what should I do?
In this case, please contact the account manager financial institution where you banned yourself with your problem! (The application will also display the name of the bank concerned in the ban message.)
1.4. I can't use biometric (e.g. fingerprint) identification?
If your phone has biometric authentication and a fingerprint is registered, you can access biometric authentication. However, some banks do not support biometric authentication, so if you register with one of these banks, biometric authentication will no longer be available in the app.(Banks can provide information on their support for biometric identification.)
1.5. Can I register multiple users with the same bank? Which banks allow multiple user registration?
Some banks provide the option to register multiple users for their service on the same device. In such cases, the registration of a new user can be initiated using the “New User” function. If the bank does not support this option, the “New User” function is not available.
1.6. If I have changed phones, how can I use ViCA on the new device?
The user must register again on the new device, after which the registration for the given banking service on the old device will be automatically deleted.
1.7. Can I use the ViCA application with multiple banks at the same time?
Yes, you must also register with the bank you want to use as a new one. Please contact your account holder's financial institution to register.
1.8. I am not receiving any messages in the ViCA application, what should I do?
For Android, tap the rotating arrow in the top right corner of the messages to refresh the message list. For Apple iOS, tap Refresh in the top right corner of the messages to refresh the message list. For Windows ViCA, tap Refresh Messages in the top right corner of the messages to refresh the message list.
1.9. I received an error message, what should I do?
Please contact your account manager's financial institution with your problem! Provide the bank administrator with the error message as precisely as possible and describe the problem.
1.10. The device I am using is on a network protected by a firewall. What IP:PORT pairs do I need to open the firewall to?
The ViCA servers addressed by ViCA are accessible at different addresses per bank. For communication, it is essential that the application reaches the bank servers. For customers using local networks and protection mechanisms, it is essential that the firewalls are open to the unique IP:PORT pairs used by each bank, and that antiviruses do not block communication. The specific addresses are public for some banks and can be found in the bank descriptions below.
If the IP:PORT is not found in the given bank documentation, please contact your bank.
1.11. I receive the following error message during registration on my newer Android device: "Failed to send message." What should I do?
If you experience such an error, select the "Unlimited" option for the duration of registration in your device settings under Applications -> ViCA -> Battery.
1.12. Why does the application need to allow location (GPS)?
The application checks the user's location for security purposes. Analysis of GPS coordinates can contribute to prevention of banking fraud. The Central Fraud Screening System (CFS) also takes into account the geographical location of the transaction when determining the risk level; using the application from an unknown or unusual location may indicate potential fraud, therefore it is highly recommended to allow location services on your device.
